SOLD!

I’m a member of the Katonah Museum Artist Association, a group of artists whose dues, in part, support the Katonah Museum of Art. The group hosts field trips, lectures, and exhibitions. COVID has cancelled all such gatherings and events.

So you can imagine how pleased I was when I read that the KMAA was planning an online gallery. I submitted a 24” x 36” piece printed on metallic paper called “Green Glass” which is part of a series of photos from a very productive day of shooting on the Big Sur Coast. It’s been nice to see my work amidst a multi-media collection.

It was even nicer to get an email from the KMAA’s director that someone wanted to buy my photo. YAY! A sale is never my expectation when I exhibit but it sure is wonderful when it happens. The seller has now taken possession of my photo and shared that she bought it as a gift for her daughter. “Normally, I don’t buy artwork for other people, but this is too perfect,” she told me. “You see, my daughter lives close to the shore and, since COVID, she’s had her kids at home. Every day, she and her daughter go out to the beach looking for sea glass. They have a whole jarful of green glass that they’ve collected.”

Gives me bit of a shiver to hear that story and to know that my artwork is going someplace it’s sure to be loved.
