A Slight Obsession with Hummingbirds

While we were in California over the summer, I discovered a spot brimming with hummingbirds. They were fascinating to watch and didn’t seem too bothered by me, if I stood far enough away. And so that’s what I did. I kept my distance and took pictures whenever I could. I don’t have the best lens for bird photography, but I’m pretty pleased with some of the images I captured. Of course, that’s not saying much. I think I got perhaps a dozen solid images out of….. maybe 1,000 (?) pictures. But I’m not too upset by that success ratio. The birds were amazing to watch and every moment was, I felt, well spent.
